Vowels Combined with Consonants

All the consonants look as they were shown in the previous page when they are used by themselves. Vowels also work the same way if they are used by themselves or when they were used in a word as the beginning character. But when you use a vowel in conjunction with a consonant, the appearance of the vowel itself changes and it will immediately follows the consonant. Unlike English, instead of following the consonant in the next space, a Telugu vowel may appear any where around the consonant that it belongs to. The place where a particular vowel joins the consonant is the same in all most all consonants with few exceptions. As a general rule a vowel never follows a consonant in the same word.

In the following table, you can see the new appearance of a vowel when it is used in conjunction with another consonant.
