Krishna is one of most popular actors that Telugu film industry has ever produced. During his long career which started in 1962, he acted in over 350 movies. His fans all over the world loved him and referred to him as "Super Star Krishna". In addition to acting he also directed 17 feature films and produced many films under his Padmalaya Film Studio banner. He was also elected as a Member of Parliament from Eluru under Congress Party.
